DALI

Spectoda supports luminaire control through the standardized DALI protocol (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface).

Overview

Full support for single-channel DALI drivers (DT6).
Support for multi-channel drivers through DALI DT8.
Control is handled through IO types (input / output).
DALI is available on selected controllers such as SC Industry A, SC Linear A and SC Daylight.

DALI DT6

DT6 is the standard for controlling single-channel drivers, typically standard white luminaires.
Spectoda has full DT6 support. This is the basic DALI deployment model for industrial, commercial and office installations.

Typical use:

Offices, industrial halls and public buildings.
Simple dimming and switching.

DALI DT8

DT8 extends DALI with multi-channel luminaire control through a single driver.

Overview

Simpler wiring because multiple drivers are not required.
Less cabling and faster configuration.
Support for colour luminaires (RGB, RGBW) and Tunable White (TC).

Supported variants

DT8_RGBWAF
- Red, Green, Blue, White, Amber, Free.
- Used for RGB(W) LED strips and colour luminaires.
DT8_TC (Tunable White / Temperature Control)
- White temperature control.
- Used in offices, schools and retail.

Practical configuration

Set the controller parameter to "variant": "DT8_RGBWAF" or "variant": "DT8_TC".
Presets are available in the setup tab, for example on Industry A6.
Only one subtype can be used on one DALI line (RGBWAF or TC). If a project needs both, split the line and use multiple controllers.

Compatibility and limitations

One controller can handle up to 16 DALI drivers, depending on the controller type.
DT6 and DT8 can be combined when they are on separate lines.
DALI behaves like other IO in the Spectoda ecosystem, so it can be combined with animations, sensors and other inputs.
